History of GLDA

The Global Landscape Design Association (GLDA) was founded with a vision to unite landscape designers across the world under one international standard of excellence.
For many years, the profession of landscape design has developed rapidly, yet lacked a unified body that could define, accredit, and protect its standards globally. Inspired by the success of long-established professional institutions in architecture and design, GLDA was created as an international authority to represent and recognize landscape designers at every stage of their careers.
From the very beginning, GLDA set its mission not only to connect professionals but also to build a framework of certification, ethics, and education that ensures prestige, trust, and recognition across borders.
Today, GLDA stands as a symbol of professionalism and quality in landscape design. With certified members, accredited educators, and a growing global network, the Association continues to shape the profession for the future — promoting sustainability, innovation, and integrity worldwide.
