For Educational Institutions – GLDA Educator Status

GLDA recognizes the critical role of education in shaping the future of landscape design. Institutions that meet our standards can apply for Educator Status, allowing them to align their programs with international recognition.

Levels of Educator Status:
1. Recognized Training Provider
• Entry-level status for schools or training centers that meet basic GLDA requirements.
• May state: “Recognized by GLDA” in their materials.

2. Accredited Educator
• Institutions that pass a detailed audit of their curriculum, teaching staff, and assessment methods.
• Authorized to prepare students directly for GLDA Certification Exams.

3. GLDA Centre of Excellence
• Awarded to top-level universities or schools with outstanding contributions to education and innovation.
• Their graduates gain fast-track access to professional GLDA membership.


Accreditation Criteria

• Curriculum: Alignment with GLDA international standards (design process, ecology, sustainability, technical competence).
• Faculty: Qualified educators, preferably with GLDA membership or certification.
• Learning Methods: Practice-based learning, real projects, ethical compliance.
• Assessment: Transparent evaluation (projects, exams, portfolio).
• Outcomes: Graduate success rate and industry recognition.

Application Process

1. Application Submission – Institution provides program details, faculty credentials, and policies.
2. GLDA Audit – Review by the Education & Professional Development Committee.
3. Decision – Approval of Educator Status (Recognized / Accredited / Centre of Excellence).
4. Annual Review – Institutions must update GLDA on program changes and quality outcomes.
